At Menorah, we find joy in celebrating every Jewish holiday throughout the year. In February, residents at the Samson Nursing Center and Toby Weinman Residence and participants of the Weissman Adult Day Center enjoyed fruits indigenous to the land of Israel at our annual Tu Bishvat Seder – a Jewish celebration for the birthday of trees. The event was filled with smiles, great music, and delicious snacks.
On March 4th, Menorah looks forward to hosting the Hadassah St. Petersburg Chapter’s annual Hadassah Shabbat celebration at Shabbat services and with a resident Kiddush luncheon. We are thrilled that the group has chosen to make Menorah the home for this annual event to celebrate the work of Hadassah – The Women’s Zionist Organization of America – with some of its most elderly members.
Purim is a fun-filled Jewish holiday that celebrates the story recounted in the Book of Esther. On March 7th, we will have our annual Purim Extravaganza! This year the residents at the Samson Nursing Center and Toby Weinman Residence and participants of the Weissman Adult Day Center will host a Purim carnival for the students from the Tampa Bay International School along with a costume parade, Megillah reading, and of course, Hamantaschen cookies. We are all so excited because this will be our first Purim carnival since the start of the COVID pandemic.
Hag Purim Sameach – wishing everyone a Happy Purim!
